The Enterprise Architect product from Sparx Systems is emerging as the preferred UML modeling tool at many OpenEdge sites because it provides a very high level of UML modeling functionality at a very modest price and because there is a cooperative relationship between Progress Software and Sparx. The ABL2UML tool writes directly into a OpenEdge database that is a repository for Enterprise Architect. Enterprise Architect has also been the focus for some UML tools published on PSDN.
